Tiffany & Co. has debuted the new designs from the Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams collection with the addition of freshwater pearls.
“The inspiration of the collection comes from my affinity with the water, and the name of the collection, ‘Titan,’ draws influence from Poseidon, ruler of the sea, King of Atlantis. ‘Atlantis’ is also the name of the community where I grew up in in Virginia Beach,” said Williams in a statement. “In Japan, it was believed that pearls were created from the tears of mythical water creatures; so I naturally gravitated towards them as a means of expressing this connection to water.”
Pearls are a hallmark of Tiffany’s design, from the seed-pearl suite that Abraham Lincoln gifted to his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, for the presidential inaugural ball in 1862 to the rare saltwater pearls featured in the Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Pearl capsule collection.
Louis Vuitton menswear creative director and multihyphenate Williams debuted his Tiffany Titan range in May with an assortment of 18-karat yellow gold or black titanium in all-metal and diamond iterations. His latest designs evolve this diamond spear motif with pearls of over 11 mm, forming new silhouettes, including necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings. Statement pieces in the collection include a necklace with freshwater pearls and nearly one total carat of diamonds, and a bracelet with freshwater pearls and more than two total carats of diamonds.
The Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams freshwater pearl designs are available on Tiffany.com and at Tiffany & Co. stores globally.
