Kelly Clarkson hit the stage on Saturday for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Cleveland. The singer and eponymous talk show host was joined onstage by singer Lou Gramm, known widely as the frontman for the band Foreigner.
For the special occasion, Clarkson opted for a mix of sheer and shimmer. The “Miss Independent” singer wore a mesh paillette minidress courtesy of Rebecca Vallance. The look featured a fitted silhouette and a bevy of glittering details contrasting with black fabric.
The minidress included sparkling paillette sequins and mesh paneling on the bodice along with long sleeves and finished with a square neckline. Clarkson also wore a pair of peep-toe, strappy, platform black heels and opted for minimal jewelry pieces, keeping the dress the centerpiece of her look.
Clarkson wore her long brunette tresses straight and down with playful fringe to frame her face. Her makeup featured a smokey eye and a glossy lip. Clarkson has been working with stylist Micaela Erlanger since her move to New York City in 2023.
Clarkson’s look for the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony brought out her inner rock star, something Erlanger has prioritized while styling the “Breakaway” singer. “New York. New Look. New Kelly,” Erlanger told WWD last April.
Erlanger, whose clientele includes Meryl Streep and Lupita Nyong’o, chooses styles for Clarkson that are “a little bit more sophisticated, chic, with that New York City sensibility and more tailoring, without losing track of who she [Clarkson] is or her personality.” After all, “she is a rock star,” Erlanger said.
Since collaborating with Erlanger, Clarkson has worn pieces courtesy of such designers as Alex Perry. The singer wore a hot pink dress by the designer to the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards last June, at which she won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.
