A pickup truck slammed into a Tesla Cybertruck which then collided with two other cars on a freeway off-ramp in Orange County on Friday night.
According to preliminary information, the crash was reported on the southbound 5 Freeway Beach Boulevard exit in Buena Park; timestamped vehicle surveillance footage showing the moment of impact indicates that collision occurred at 7:22 p.m.
Video obtained by KTLA shows first responders extricating the driver of the white Chevy pickup that crashed into the Cybertruck. His Chevy sustained heavy damage, the video footage shows.
The Cybertruck sustained rear-end damage as well as minor front-end damage due to the chain reaction crash. The extent of the damage sustained by the two other vehicles involved is not known.
One witness to the crash said the situation unfolded very quickly.
“As soon as the Tesla Cybertruck pulled up at the red light, the white truck pulled up behind it but continued to drive…it didn’t stop,” said the witness, Devin Duckworth. “[The white truck] ended up hitting the Tesla, and the Tesla got pushed into a van and an Infiniti.”
