The City of Savannah has issued a boil water advisory for an estimated 75 homes in the Kensington Park neighborhood.
Around 4:10 p.m. the advisory was sent out after water department crews continued to work to repair a water line break that occurred around 8 a.m. Sunday, at the intersection of DeRenne Avenue and Reynolds Street. The homes under advisory have lost water pressure, which has prompted the boil water notice.
The affected area has been outlined in a map shared by the city, included in this article. The area stretches along DeRenne Avenue east from Reynolds to Paulsen Street and West to Habersham Street. The notice area also includes homes south of DeRenne along Oxford Drive to Kensington Drive.
Eastbound lanes remained closed on DeRenne from Habersham Street to Paulsen Street until further notice.
City of Savannah Senior Director of Communication’s confirmed via email Sunday afternoon that westbound lanes on DeRenne Avenue have been fully reopened at this time.
