Akshay Bhatia Joins TravisMathew as Ambassador

TravisMathew is adding two-time PGA champion Akshay Bhatia to its ambassador roster.

The brand has signed the 22-year-old golfer as its newest brand ambassador, joining former NFL star Reggie Bush, Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, and pro golfers Chris Kirk, Sam Burns, Will Gordon and Tyler McCumber.

“I’ve always been a fan of the brand and couldn’t be more excited to represent the brand as an ambassador during the season,” Bhatia said. “The ideals and the style TravisMathew embodies fit right in with me, my personality and my motivations.”

Ryan Ellis, chief executive officer of TravisMathew, said the golfer’s “incredible talent, youthful energy, and fresh approach to the game strongly align with the spirit of our brand. As he continues to make his mark on the professional golf landscape, we’re excited to support him on his journey and showcase how our products and brand complement his personality and golf performance.”

Bhatia, who has been a professional golfer for six years, opts for bright colors and complex patterns in his apparel choice, reflecting the style of the younger, more contemporary players. He turned pro at 17 and won the Korn Ferry Tour at The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic in 2022. The next year, Bhatia earned his PGA Tour card in a playoff win at the 2023 Barracuda Championship, placed 35th at the Masters Tournament and 16th at the U.S. Open in 2024.

The Huntington Beach, Calif.-based TravisMathew, which started as a men’s golf brand 15 years ago, was acquired by Callaway and has expanded into a variety of lifestyle categories, including womenswear.
