Angelina Jolie attended her latest promotional event for her upcoming film “Maria” in New York City on Monday, joined by director Pablo Larraín and other guests for a screening at the Crosby Street Hotel Monday evening.
For the occasion, Jolie kept it simple, giving the popular dark glamour trend a casual spin. The actress wore a black maxidress with off-the-shoulder elements and thin straps, revealing her shoulders. She completed the ensemble with black pointed-toe heels.
Her glam featured brunette hair with blond highlights, styled straight with natural waves. Her makeup was clean, with a hint of smokey eye and a natural pink lip.
Over the course of the last several months, Jolie has attended several events promoting “Maria,” where she portrays legendary opera singer Maria Callas. The film is a significant return to the spotlight for Jolie, whose new era also includes a partnership with Tom Ford Beauty.
Jolie is the beauty brand’s first celebrity ambassador and stars in a new campaign for the Runway Lip Color collection, in which she sports the vibrant red Scarlet Rouge lipstick.
On partnering with Jolie, Guillaume Jesel, the brand’s president and chief executive officer, told WWD’s Beauty Inc last August that the actress “appeals to a broad demographic, and she has global appeal,” adding, “We are branded very internationally, and are well diversified around the world. And her appeal to Gen Z is very interesting.”
“Maria” chronicles the final days of opera singer Maria Callas’s life in Paris during the 1970s. Directed by Pablo Larraín, known for “Jackie” (2016) and “Spencer” (2021), the film debuts on Netflix on Dec. 11.
