Chloë Sevigny brought edginess to the Los Angeles red carpet premiere of her new collaboration with Ryan Murphy “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” on Monday. The show is the second installment of Murphy’s “Monster” anthology series.
For the red carpet premiere, Sevigny opted for a leather bomber jacket by Phoebe Philo with breast pockets, high rounded collar and dramatic flare. The bomber, reminiscent of Philo’s collection that debuted in October 2023, featured a plum hue.
Sevigny converted the bomber jacket into a dress and paired the look with square-toed black heels. The actress also wore a pair of statement earrings, but opted to keep her look sleek and simple. She pulled her blond hair back into a tight chignon and her makeup featured a plum lip.
Sevigny’s look was curated by stylist Haley Wollens. Wollens and Sevigny are longtime collaborators. The two recently launched Myth, a digital platform and magazine, on Sept. 7.
After more than three years, Philo introduced new designs in October 2023 under her new signature brand. As opposed to referring to the assorted designs as a collection, Philo opted to call her October 2023 designs her new “edit.”
Philo previously worked with luxury French fashion house Chloé and was the creative director of Celine. After a stint selling at Bergdorf Goodman in early 2024, Philo announced that her label would distribute in select brick-and-mortar stores in Europe and the U.S. beginning this fall.
Netflix’s “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” stars Sevigny, Cooper Kock, Nicholas Chavez and Osar-winner Javier Bardem. The season centers on the 1989 murders of José and Kitty Menéndez, who were both killed by their sons Lyle and Erik. The season debuts on Thursday.
