Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande Revive ‘Wicked’ Method Dressing at the National Youth Theatre in London

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo revived their “Wicked” press tour style on Wednesday while speaking at the National Youth Theatre in London. Both actresses received Oscar nominations for their roles in the film adaptation of the hit musical.

Grande melded retro inspiration with Glinda’s signature shade, wearing a pink cropped cardigan and ruffled skirt that nodded to 1950s fashion trends. She also added on black pumps and pearl jewelry.

The singer currently works with stylist Mimi Cuttrell, who also counts Gigi Hadid and “Outer Banks” star Madelyn Cline as clients.

Erivo, meanwhile, channeled Elphaba’s dark aesthetic into a black sweater with jeweled appliqués, which she paired with a satin maxiskirt and chunky hoop earrings. The Broadway star was dressed by Jason Bolden, stylist to Nicole Kidman and Cara Delevingne.

“Wicked” picked up ten Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Costume Design. Erivo is up for Best Actress, her second nomination in the category following her role in 2019’s “Harriet.”

Grande is up for Best Supporting Actress, marking her first Oscar nomination. She celebrated the news on Instagram, writing, “Picking my head up in between sobs to say thank you so much to @theacademy for this unfathomable recognition.”

“I’m humbled and deeply honored to be in such brilliant company and sharing this with tiny Ari who sat and studied Judy Garland singing ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow,’” she continued.

While promoting the first installment of “Wicked,” Grande and Erivo embraced method dressing on the red carpet, wearing custom designs by Louis Vuitton, Thom Browne, Versace and Vivienne Westwood.
