Deputies searching for missing 17-year-old boy with autism in Shelby County

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing 17-year-old boy with autism.

Deputies received a report at 8:31 p.m. Tuesday night that Braden Barnes, a 17-year-old boy, jumped out of a window and ran from the 8900 block of State Route 47 in Sidney, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

The father took off chasing him but lost him. He then reported the boy missing.

Braden is described as six feet, seven inches tall. He weights 165 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He wore a black hooded coat, dark jeans, and dark shoes.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Sidney Police and Fire, Anna Fire, BCI&I, and an OSHP Air Unit are helping the sheriff’s office look for Braden, Sheriff Frye said.
