Girls’ Generation’s Yoona Embodies Valentino’s New Retro-inspired Aesthetic in Tweed, Faux Fur and Ruffles at Seoul Pop-up Shop Launch

Girls’ Generation’s Yoona is playing it faithful with Valentino. The K-pop star attended the opening of a pop-up store for the Italian brand at the Hyundai Seoul in South Korea on Tuesday. For the occasion, Yoona opted for a head-to-toe look from Alessandro Michele’s debut collection for the brand.

Yoona wore a black-and-white tweed jacket featuring faux fur cuffs over a ruffled chiffon pussy bow blouse paired with a tiered black ruffled taffeta skirt. Her knee-high cotton socks featured a perforated design inspired by the Valentino V logo. Completing the look, Yoona selected the company’s pink Bowow pumps, which feature a small mary jane strap as well as a crystal appliqué.

The singer carried Valentino’s Viva Superstar tote, completing a look that closely mirrored an ensemble from Alessandro’s debut collection for the resort 2025 season.

Yoona, a member of Girls’ Generation since 2007, attended the store opening as part of her role as a brand ambassador. Last October, she was named a face of the label shortly after attending the company’s spring 2025 show, where she was reportedly the only Korean artist present. The show also marked Michele’s runway debut for the brand.

Previously, Yoona, who is also an actor, served as an ambassador for brands such as Michael Kors and Miu Miu. Now at Valentino, she joins BTS’ Suga as a Korean ambassador for the label.

Michele’s resort 2025 collection was an unexpected debut for the designer. It spanned 171 looks and came only about two months after the designer started at the brand. “This is a magic location, and from the very first day I felt something special had happened, there was a chemical reaction,” he said at the time. The collection drew inspiration from the Valentino Garavani archives, reimagining styles from the 1950s through the 1980s.
