Jennifer Aniston on How She Reinvented Her Workout Routine With Functional Fitness, Pvolve Partnership and the Wellness Ritual She Can’t Live Without


Next month, Jennifer Aniston is celebrating one year of her partnership with low-impact, functional fitness brand Pvolve.

To commemorate the anniversary, the actress and company, which has brick-and-mortar studios, a virtual platform and branded products, are launching the limited-edition Essentials Bundle, $350; a spring fitness challenge that will run from May 13 through June 9 with 12 classes, and Aniston’s personal workout schedule, curated by director of training and head trainer Dani Coleman, for Pvolve users to follow along with.

The Essentials Bundle is made up of Aniston’s go-to products, including the P.ball, P.band, P.3 Trainer, Slant Board, Heavy Ankle Band and Gliders. It also comes with a tote bag and three-month membership to Pvolve’s virtual platform.

“These pieces I personally love because they’re very portable,” Aniston said. “You can take them wherever you go, if you’re on vacation or if you’re working out of town.”

While she said it changes constantly, her current favorite piece of equipment is the P.band, which is an upper body resistance band with glove-like grips.

Aniston’s partnership with the company came naturally, as she had fallen in love with the Pvolve program after being introduced to it in 2021, following a back injury. Over the past year, Aniston has acted as a brand advocate, appearing in campaigns. She’s also worked with the team on future products and programming.

“I said, ‘Why doesn’t everybody know about [it]? This is incredible,’” she recalled of starting Pvolve. “You’re getting so much bang for your buck and your body is not broken.”

That’s the brand’s goal: to keep users injury-free. With this, the brand is aiming to build out the functional fitness category, essentially workouts that support everyday movements.

“It’s about longevity and sustainability,” Aniston said. “What is going to be long lasting? Over the years, I’ve tried so many different forms of workouts and I usually will end up with an injury of some kind.…Pushing yourself too hard is not necessary, and I’ve learned that the hard way. That’s why I love this because it is literally so that you’re hitting all of your core muscle groups so that you can function throughout your day.”

While the brand is staking its claim in functional fitness, there is a lot of education to be done to reach consumers. Pvolve president Julie Cartwright previously told WWD that Aniston plays a key role in getting the word out there.

“Jennifer [Aniston] provides a tremendous platform for awareness and education and when we’re talking about a brand new to market modality that is the hardest mountain to climb,” Cartwright told WWD last year.

While Aniston is committed to her Pvolve routine, she told WWD that there’s one other wellness ritual she can’t live without.

“Meditating, every morning for about 20 minutes,” she said. “It just allows your day to be more digestible. If there’s a day you miss it, the static of the day just will get to you a lot easier.”

As Aniston enters her second year of partnering with Pvolve, expansion is the goal.

“I want it to be world known,” she said. “I want it to be that go-to fitness for everybody. [I want] more brand awareness of the workout.”
