Kelsea Ballerini added a bit of sparkle to the sheer trend on Friday while performing on “Today” in New York. The country singer recently released her fifth album, “Patterns.”
On stage, Ballerini selected an Alex Perry set consisting of a bra top, blazer and high-waisted shorts embellished with crystallized pinstripes. Underneath, she added on a sheer long-sleeve top and tights, completing her look with Western-inspired Christian Louboutin ankle boots.
The “Cowboys Cry Too” artist wore her ash blond tresses in beachy waves, while her makeup included brown eyeshadow and a nude matte lip.
Ballerini performed her song “Blindsided” as part of “Today’s” Citi Concert Series. Speaking to host Savannah Guthrie, the singer described her latest LP as a “love letter to self-assessment.”
“I turned 30 and I kind of came up for air, looked at my life,” she said. “I was like, ‘Ok, we made it, this is exciting, new decade, new chapter. What do I love about my life and what do I want to change and what have I contributed to both?’”
Ballerini also sat down with Willie Geist to discuss her sold out album release show at Madison Square Garden, which takes place on Tuesday.
“It’s a big girl show,” she explained. “I think for me I finally bet on myself now. I believe if there’s ever a time to make that jump, it’s now.”
Last month, Ballerini brought crocodile print to the red carpet premiere of the new medical drama “Doctor Odyssey” in Los Angeles. The singer, who has a guest spot on the series, sported a champagne boatneck devoré slipdress from Blumarine featuring thigh-high slit.
She accessorized with metallic open-toe heels, jewelry by Graziela, Octavia Elizabeth, Effy and Bondeye, completing her look with a kitschy Kate Barton “fishbowl” purse. Ballerini was styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, the duo known for dressing Jennifer Lopez, Lindsay Lohan and Kerry Washington.
