'Large Rain-Wrapped Tornado' Seen Crossing Highway in Oklahoma

Severe weather warnings were in effect as strong storms moved over Oklahoma on Monday, May 6, carrying strong wind, hail, lightning, and potential tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Footage taken by Elliot Baugh was described as showing “a large rain-wrapped tornado” crossing Highway 81, north of Hennessey.

The NWS warned storms were carrying 60 mph wind gusts and hail up to half an inch in size. Hail and wind damage were expected, the weather service said. Credit: Elliot Baugh via Storyful
