LONDON — Japanese bag brand Master-piece has launched its second collaboration with menswear label Universal Works for spring 2025.
The capsule ranges from bags to a selection of ready-to-wear, including overshirts, track shorts, and a bomber jacket, made from recycled poly tech and tech canvas. Fusing their utilitarian sensibilities, the brands jazzed up the collection’s militaristic feel with fun prints and pops of color.

“We at UW always love a mixture of colours and patterns, mixing up colours in one style,” explained David Keyte, Universal Works’ cofounder, over email. “Then throwing in our signature Swedish camo is normal for us and the Master-piece team have a big love of camo too so that worked well. The silhouettes are all about simple hold-all shapes and anatomical straps for comfort — ‘sophisticated simplicity,’ I call it.”
Universal Works’ signature blue camouflage can be found in the capsule’s three bags: a large tote, a small tote, and a sacoche. The styles also come in olive with an orange contrast pocket, each featuring plenty of pockets and adjustable straps.
Large and small tote bags are also included in the collection.

T-shirts and bomber jackets come in black and tan colorways, featuring text that reads “With the concept to merge together design and functionality in a high level, this product was born from true friendship.”
Having first collaborated for fall 2024, the brands’ second partnership stemmed from their ongoing friendship and shared aesthetic — and Keyte teased that a third collaboration could even be in the works.
“We are still friends and still talking. We love what the Master-piece team produces and we think of them as long term friends and we always love to work on future projects with friends so…. ‘Watch this space,’” he said.
