Rihanna Puts a Cozy Spin on the Butter Yellow Trend in Fuzzy Jacquemus Coat at Fenty Hair Selfridges Launch

Rihanna made the case for butter yellow this fall while celebrating the launch of Fenty Hair at Selfridges in London on Monday. The singer and entrepreneur stopped by the British department store, posing with celebrity fans like Jess Glynne and Mahalia.

The Fenty Beauty founder selected a furry Jacquemus coat from the label’s fall 2024 collection, wearing it off the shoulder. She added on matching satin pumps, a diamond-encrusted anklet and jeweled drop earrings.

Rihanna later changed into a vintage John Galliano dress that originally debuted during the designer’s spring 2006 presentation. She paired the sheer ruffled frock with metallic high-heeled sandals, topping off her second look with a bold red lip.

Labels like Sandy Liang, Bottega Veneta and Schiaparelli sent butter yellow down the runway last fall, setting the sunshine-y trend for spring and summer. The pale lemon hue, which could pass for a neutral, has been worn by stars like Aubrey Plaza and Emily Ratajkowski on the red carpet.

Rihanna officially launched Fenty Hair in June, sharing a short video to her social media accounts.

“Fenty Hair is pullin up and it’s time to finally have the hair experience you’ve been waiting for,” she wrote.

In a one-minute teaser, models with various hair textures show off their freshly done tresses as Rihanna makes her way down a colorful cul de sac. She also debuted a new hairdo, trading in her long locks for a pixie cut.

“You know how much switching my hair up matters to me,” Rihanna continued in the caption. “I’ve had almost every texture, color, length, from weaves to braids to natural, so I am launching a flexible line of products for not only every hair want, but every single product is designed to strengthen and repair all types of hair, which is what we truly need. It’s time to play and get stronger by the style.”
