Selena Gomez and Pamela Anderson each took a similar approach to their respective attire for the IndieWire Honors event on Thursday in Los Angeles. Both the “Emilia Pérez” star and “The Last Showgirl” actress received awards for their respective work and contributions to independent cinema in 2024.
For her attire at the red carpet event, Gomez opted for a sleek look with suited inspiration. The Rare Beauty founder wore the Kristian Silk Cady Evening Dress courtesy of Ralph Lauren Collection. With a silhouette and design informed by the tuxedo-inspired gown, the look takes menswear and gives it the ultimate feminine spin.
The long-sleeve dress with a high slit at the front of the skirt is made of silk cady, with stand-out elements including formal suiting details, like silk-faille-covered peak lapels and buttons. Gomez continued her black sartorial motif with coordinated pointed-toe, sling-back pumps and sheer black tights. She accessorized with a pair of gold statement earrings.
As for her glam, Gomez’s hair was styled with sleek sensibility courtesy of Renato Campora. Her makeup featured a bold red lip and subtle rosy cheeks by artist Hung Vanngo. Gomez’s look was curated by stylist Erin Walsh, who’s collaborated with Anne Hathaway, Juno Temple and Elizabeth Banks, among others.
As for her attire, Anderson took a similar route with her look. The “Baywatch” alum wore a navy blue velvet wrap dress featuring soft lapels, flared sleeves and a short train. The actress paired the dress with sheer black tights and strappy black sandal heels.
Anderson continued her no-makeup streak and opted for minimal pieces of jewelry. When it came to her hairstyle, the actress’ blond hair was coiffed in a straight, down look with a side part.
Anderson was the recipient of the Performance Award while Gomez received the Spotlight Award at the IndieWire Honors event. Both women appear in independent dramas in 2024 — Gomez in “Emilia Pérez” and Anderson leading “The Last Showgirl.” While “Emilia Pérez” is available to stream on Netflix, “The Last Showgirl” hits theaters Jan. 10.
