2024 was a difficult year for Volkswagen, and factors beyond its control could mean a tough 2025 as well. By Jonathan Storey

VW Group’s actual result for 2024 was slightly ahead of its twice-downgraded forecast, but it was a weak year for the company, as it was hit by higher fixed costs and restructuring, with Audi particularly affected. The company anticipates another tough year in 2025, with many of the adverse factors being outside its control.
