Stone Co. storm damages cell tower, at least 15 boats at marina Wednesday night

The Cape Fair Marina near Branson was forced to close on the Fourth of July because of storm damage the night before, according to a Facebook post by the marina.

“Please do not come to the marina today, July 4th. Safety is our number one concern and there is no access to the docks by land at this time,” Cape Fair Marina wrote in a post at 7 a.m.

Around 11 a.m., Cape Fair Marina posted that customers are now able to access the marina’s parking lot to view docks and boats, though the walkways were inaccessible due to damage.

No staff or customers were seriously injured, though the marina currently estimates that at least 15 to 20 boats were damaged in the storm. Cape Fair Marina said in the Facebook post that they will be sending out emails to customers about the damage.

The storm also damaged a cell phone tower off Highway 76, according to the Stone County Sheriff’s Office.
